Chervil French Parsely organically grown seeds x200 approx
The delicate, fast growing annual herb known as garden chervil, French parsely, gourmet parsley or myrhis; is a fragile, wispy arromatic herb related to parsley.
The plant itself is fine and fluffy similar to maiden a hair fern. It is well adapted to a shadey spot on the window seal or winter growing, however I wouldn't risk frost.
The flavour is sweet, herbaceous with aniseed x with parsley. Some would liken it to liquorice, though I dont think it is that strong.
I personally use it fresh to top my meals as cooking seems to destroy much of the aromatics and flavour.
PERFECT with eggs and hollandaise.
The origins of the herb are said to be the middle east, Russia and the Caucasus. The Romans helped spread the herb over Europe where it is now naturalised.
This herb has been use for many hundreds of years, so ive gotta say that it should be a staple in you garden! It is so fun to snip the small fern-like leaves for breakfast.
