Organic Woju / Wosun / Celtuce / asparagus lettuce stem lettuce seeds x150
Wosun, Celtuce or asparagus lettuce dwarfs all other lettuce varieties.
The giraffe of the lettuce world if you might.
It has been grown & used for many hundreds of years in China and was only introduced into the western world in the late 1800s.
Grown predominantly for the stalk, although the leaves are edible, It can get up to 70cm tall when given the space.
The stems are subtlety sweet, nutty & mild in flavour, making it very easy to cook with.
They should be picked well before they go to seed or will become bitter.
Growing is very simple.
Sow in winter using rich, well composted soil with good drainage. Choose a protected area as the plant can be delicate when young. (I had mine destroyed by hail 🥲)
sow 1 every 30-40cm
full sun
You will receive 200 seeds
